John Palley is a probate attorney, out in California.
What’s more, he’s the author How To Live & Die With California Probate: A Layman’s Guide To Understanding Probate In California — an authority book that he authored and published through our Speak-a-Book program.
A while back, we asked John what he loves most about being an author.
Do you know what he said?
It’s great having a book to pass out and a book on Amazon! There is nothing like telling people you have a book on Amazon! Plus handing out books when you give a seminar is great too.
Being on Amazon.com gives you several advantages.
(Especially over other attorneys who aren’t on Amazon.com.)
First, most laypeople believe that it’s far more difficult than it actually is to become an “official” Amazon author. So, in effect, it’s a pedestal.
This, by itself, can dramatically elevate your positioning.
Second, Google considers Amazon.com to be an “authoritative” domain. It’s on the same level as Wikipedia.org. If a potential Googles your name, and you have an author page on Amazon.com, it will show in the results.
Again, this elevates your positioning.
Third, a lot of potentials (usually the ones with more education, more cash to invest, and more motivation to retain the best counsel) like to research their legal problem before approaching an attorney. Guess where many of them turn to for information? They seek out books on Amazon.com.
Fourth, you can put an Amazon badge (and the famous five stars) in the header or footer of all the pages on your website. That way, every potential who checks you out online knows you have a book on Amazon.com.
Fifth, you can drop it in conversation, like Attorney John Palley does, every time you mention your book. (“This sells on Amazon.com for $14.95.”) Why would you want to do that? Because it elevates your authority.
There you have it — five meaningful advantages that come from being a published author with a presence on Amazon.com.
And, do you know what?
These are just a few of the “perks” of our Speak-a-Book process.
The icing on the cake.
