Interested in writing a book but don’t have the time? Our Speak-a-Book service helps attorneys author a book in as little as 2-3 hours. Request a complimentary sample book and info pack.
An anecdote you might appreciate:
It’s World War II, and a lieutenant has just assembled his company of infantrymen for one last pep talk before they all board the ship to Europe.
All the men are s**t scared.
They’re about to be sent to the front line, in a foreign land. And most of them aren’t even men. They’re young boys in their late teens.
“Listen up, men!”
“It’s my duty to tell you about a new insurance program for GIs from the government. Doesn’t cost a dime. If you’re killed in action, your loved ones will receive $10,000 from Uncle Sam. All you need to do is sign this form.”
The lieutenant held up a stack of papers.
But not a single boy stepped forward to sign up.
“Ahem… Sir…”
“Yes, Sergeant?”
“Let me tell these gentlemen what you’re not allowed to tell them.”
“Boys, if you sign this form, it’s going to cost the government $10,000 to put you in a body bag. And if you don’t, they get to bury you for free.”
“Who do you think they’ll choose first for cannon fodder?”
The young soldiers looked at each other, and then, without a word, every last one of them rushed up to the front and signed their forms.
Moral of the story?
Sometimes, you’ve just got to get down to brass tacks.
So, if you’ll let me, I’d like to tell you in crystal clear terms why you should rush forward, so to speak, and apply to our Speak-a-Book program.
Thanks to Avvo, FindLaw, et al., the typical potential client now “shortlists” around half a dozen attorneys. He or she is going to visit at least three of their offices for a case review. Then they’ll go home to “think about it”.
Who do you think they’ll call back first?
The two attorneys who set them on their way with a handshake and a business card? Or the one attorney who gave them a complimentary book?
Which attorney do you think their spouse will urge them to retain?
This is just one advantage of having a book. And it’s an advantage that you can have working for you in exchange for just 2-3 hours of easy work.
There is no other way to author a book that makes it anywhere near as easy as our Speak-a-Book program does. Because, in reality, even ghostwriting is a PITA, since ghostwriters aren’t attorneys and often get basic facts wrong and miss important nuances. The Speak-a-Book program makes life easier, and you end up with a book that is your own words, authored ethically.
I know what I’d do if I were an attorney on the front line.
I’d sign up without a moment of hesitation.
Let some other wretched soul get served us as cannon fodder to Avvo and FindLaw’s relentless commoditization of the legal profession. Not you.
