Defending College Students Charged With A Sex Crime In Michigan

Defending College Students Charged With A Sex Crimes In Michigan: Vital Information To Protect Against The Life-Altering Consequences Of A Sex Crime Conviction

Sex-related criminal allegations are extraordinarily common on Michigan campuses. According to Governmental reports as recent as 2014, the frequency of sex crimes actually occurring has statistically decreased over the years, due in large part to more scrutiny, more education, and more awareness of the problem. However, the rate of charges has actually increased, as complainants are now more likely to come forward with these cases. And, in the college setting, police and prosecutors are now more likely to charge and prosecute these offenses even when the evidence is slight.

This handbook is a useful guide for both students and parents about the sex crimes committed within college campuses in Michigan and how to deal if a student faces sex crime charges. There are mainly two types of sex crimes, one, the Criminal Sexual Conduct (CSC) that includes the most serious offenses to fourth-degree sex offenses; second, offenses that lead the defendant on public sex offender registry such as pornography and gross indecency.

This manual explains the readers about what happens when a student faces sex crime charges, the potential penalties, their consequences and what steps a student should take to defeat or reduce the charges.
