I was born and raised a Texan and grew up in Livingston, Polk County, Texas. I graduated from Livingston High School and attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries. I began as an associate pastor in Livingston with my father, who was the pastor of Gethsemane Chapel. I assisted my father in his ministry in Livingston for some time and then I became pastor of that same church.

About a year after becoming pastor, my church merged with another church in Livingston. I then joined the United States Navy Reserves and attended Regent University School of Law, where I graduated in 1992 with a Juris Doctorate degree. I was admitted to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas in November of 1992, and I opened my practice in Livingston, Texas. I founded what was then known as William D. Bloodworth II, Attorney and Counselor at Law, which I later formed as a professional limited liability company. Shortly thereafter, I began doing an extensive amount of work with the Texas prison system, in which I was assigned responsibility for all inmate requests for legal assistance in the women’s prison units in Texas, which generated a large amount of family law related legal work.
