I have focused exclusively on criminal defense since I was sworn in as an attorney in 2003. I spent almost ten years of that time as a prosecutor, and I won many awards during my tenure. I handled thousands of cases from the most basic misdemeanors to three strikes, and twenty-five to life cases. Part of that time was as a domestic violence prosecutor in the Family Protection Unit.

Domestic violence cases differ from most other criminal defense situations because they often involve two different accounts of what happened.
